You won't get Bored with Cords

Nothing says holiday weather like corduroys. They keep you warm and are a great way to add texture to the normal pant/jean. With all the advancement in the styling of premium denim, it is no suprise that it has reached other genres of denim. The cord can now be found in various colors and styles from bootcut to the now popular skinny jean. Red Engine has come up the the four select colors you see below for their current season's corduroys (black, sand, chocolate, and loden)

Here is the Blaze Skinny in Black and the Scarlotte Bootcut in Chocolate which we currently have in stock. : )

Another Brand that carries more of a trouser fit for women is Tribal. We have this lovely bootcut pant in java and they sure are comfortable!

So don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone with colored cords, they are all still neutral colors that can be easily mixed and matched with any color top/sweater.

Get the "Skinny" on Skinny Jeans

As you know, from every magazine out right now - this season its all about the skinny jeans. But don't get us wrong - the word "skinny" refers to the bottom opening of the pant leg, NOT to the body type required to wear them! No matter what your shape or size, skinny jeans are a MUST HAVE in your wardrobe right now. The great thing is that they come in different cuts and different rises, so that every woman can find a pair to make her feel great!

There are many different fits when it comes to skinny jeans. One of our most popular skinny jeans right now is the Red Engine Cayenne (pictured below). This is going to be your most traditional and popular style of skinny jean. A jean cut like this has a very small bottom opening, and a somewhat lower rise. They are great for a slim to midsize girl. This particular pair is also great if you are looking for black denim - another hot trend for the season.

This Week we are making our Skinny Jeans the Item of the week. Originally $180 they are now available for $140 until Sunday, so hurry in while we still have your size. Colors include black, sand, and stone wash

If these look a little TOO skinny for you, don't fear! There are still skinny jeans for you! Another option is a skinny jean with a slightly larger bottom opening, like this Couture Cut jean by Hello Skinny Jeans. A pair like this also offers a midrise for those of us who are more comfortable with a little more coverage. Also great for a woman with a few more curves.

If you are still uncomfortable with the idea of skinny jeans, ease your way into this trend with a pair of "jeggings." This is an alternative way to wear skinny jeans and still look fabulous! Jeggings are leggings made to look like jeans. They give you all the comfort and stretch of leggings, but have back pockets to make them look like a great pair of jeans! You will feel great in these no matter what shape or size you are!

Now, besides looking great, what are some of the extra perks of skinny jeans? THE SHOES. This denim trend is ALL about the SHOES. Whether you are wearing boots, booties, flats or heels, these jeans are going to show them off! With so many great shoes to choose from this season, like these boots and booties, would you REALLY want to cover them up with a bootcut jean? We didn't think so.

And the second best reason to wear these jeans? Tunic Tops. This is a great trend - especially if you really love the skinny jean look, but do not want to show off your hip area. Try something like this with your skinny jeans.

Now go get you a pair and start looking fabulous!

Trunk Show

We're having a Kay Unger Trunk Show tomorrow at the store, and feel it is only appropriate to hold off on an item of the week and focus a little more on KAY. Emily, our amazing rep from Kay Unger New York is flying in for the day before she heads off to Atlanta Market to help make this a wonderful event. She has sent down 15 Immediate order and 15 Resort/Spring pieces that anyone that stops by can order. It's hopefully going to be ridiculously busy and amazing.

Here's a little information on Kay Unger. Originally born in Chicago, she attended Parson's New School for Design (in case you don't know what that is, its a great clothing design school or you just need to watch Project Runway on Lifetime) : ) In 1994 she and her former president from a previous clothing firm began their new venture with the brand Kay Unger New York. Her dresses are meant to be alternatives to the little black dress (which she has some of those too) and to emphasize femininity and class.

So Basically Wednesday is KAY DAY. Come join us for an exclusive look at Spring Fashions, a chance to win a free dress, and a few gift certificates
